遮荫树 offer many benefits — including increased comfort, enhanced property values and improvements to air and 水 quality. 遮荫树, when planted in the right location, can even help reduce energy used for summer cooling by 15% or more!

Consider whether you have an open space, away from any overhead powerlines on the west side of your house, and if you have the means to plant, 水, 照顾一棵树. If you do, consider participating in the 遮荫树项目!

注意: Participation is limited to two trees per customer for the life of the program, and participants must have the legal right to plant trees on the property. Trees are available on a first come-first served basis.

Once enrolled, you’ll be able to:

• 选择和保留 a tree — there are several species to choose from.
• 获取信息 on the best planting sites for energy efficiency. You will be asked to map your house to see how energy savings change depending on which side of the house the tree is placed. Although the decision about where to plant is ultimately yours, the future of this program depends on the energy savings, so please choose the location wisely.
• 时间表 接机日期. Choose from one of two options in 杰罗姆: Thursday, May 16 or Saturday, May 18.
  • Trees will only be available on the designated dates and times. You must pre-register and receive your enrollment confirmation letter to pick up your tree(s).
• 捡起 你的树木. 当你到达时, you’ll be able to ask an arborist questions, participate in planting demonstrations, and receive planting and care instructions. Trees come in 3–5-gallon containers and range in height from 4–10 feet, so please plan their transportation accordingly.
• 植物 你的树木. Do so as soon as possible to give them the best chance at a long and healthy life.
• 享受 the natural beauty and energy savings for years to come!
